Workshop: An introduction to metrics and their use – turning data into intelligence

NarmaWS_Bibl_200NARMA inviterer til workshop:
Dato/tid: 21. april 2016, 09:30 -16:30
Sted: HiOA, Auditorium NO20-025, Pilestredet 32, Oslo

Rapport fra workshopen finner du her.

  • Forstå hvordan man bruker bibliometri til å måle individuell- og institusjonell forskningsytelse;
  • Forstå hvilke faktorer som skal vurderes ved valg av hensiktsmessige bibliometriske verktøy og indikatorer;

About the contributors:

Wouter Gerritsma, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

  • Wouter Gerritsma is manager of Digital Services and Innovation at VU University Library since April 2015. Before joining VU University he was subject specialist and bibliometrician at Wageningen University. His quantitative background was an asset when he joined the library world in 2000. As bibliometrician he has gained a lot of experience with studying the scientific output of institutions. Factors which explained publication impact have always captured his interest. A new toolset to capture the interactions of scholarly communication in the social web gave rise to the so called Altmetrics. Bibliometrics, publication strategy and Altmetrics are the main topics of his tweet stream @wowter, and blog at http://wowter.net
Dr. Lisa Colledge, Director of Research Metrics, Elsevier

  • Dr Lisa Colledge is an expert in the use of research metrics. She is responsible for developing and defining Elsevier’s research metrics strategy.
  • She started by working with editors and learned societies to develop strategies to improve journals’ standings. She then joined the Elsevier Research Intelligence product group, which most recently launched SciVal. Lisa also represents Elsevier in Snowball Metrics, in which universities agrees methods to generate metrics, from all data sources available, to support international benchmarking.
  • Prior to joining Elsevier, Lisa conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Edinburgh. She holds both a DPhil and an MA from the University of Oxford.
Guillaume Warnan, Elsevier

  • Guillaume Warnan is Customer Consultant in the Elsevier Research Intelligence team and focuses on Northern Europe (Scandinavia and Benelux).
  • In his role, Guillaume is the go-to person for all customers of Research Intelligence solutions (especially SciVal and Scopus) and makes sure customers make the most of their subscriptions.
  • Guillaume is also responsible for interacting with the bibliometric community in his region (participation as speaker to conferences, development of new ideas, etc.)
  • Prior to joining Elsevier, Guillaume worked 10 years as a strategy consultant, focusing on the health sector. He holds an MSc from Essec Business School and an MBA from the University of Warwick.
Herman Strøm, UiO

  • Herman Strøm works as a Senior Adviser in the Education and Research Administration Office at the University of Oslo (UiO). He has been coordinating the CRIStin network at UiO for the last six years, and is coordinating the recently established bibliometrics network at UiO. Herman holds a Master of Social Anthropology from the University of Oslo.
Marianne Gauffriau, University of Copenhagen

  • Marianne Gauffriau has worked with bibliometrics and research evaluation for more than ten years for University of Copenhagen, the Royal Library, the Danish National Research Foundation and the Technical University of Denmark. In 2012, Marianne together with two colleagues established the Danish Research Indicator Network (FIN), and in 2015 she was elected as board member of DARMA. Marianne holds a Master of Library and Information Science (2005) and a Professional Master of Evaluation (2009).
